Ideally, id like a much more effective way to draw cards/come back from a boardwipe just incase.Magic players everywhere are excited about the Masters 25 spoilers. As I mentioned earlier, our 'queen' and Prophecy are two cards im on the fence about. Thats the deck! Im looking for any advice, or suggestions that may help. Additionally, with all of the ways to draw/play defense, we should reasonably be able to hit lands every turn)* (Im playing 22 lands because black doesnt really have a lot of ways to ramp without loss of life, or without really high cost spells \cough Dark Petition*. If we have this card and Slumlord out, and we play a rat then whenever a rat dies, we lose 1 life, draw 1 card, and make a 1/1 rat token. With both this, and the 'queen' out, whenever we play a rat it really means: "Sacrifice this rat, draw 2 cards, lose 2 life, and your opponent loses one". However, our rat queen helps mitigate this by draining whenever a rat enters the field. (Im using only 2 because he has a high CMC, and doesnt really do much the turn he comes out).Ĥx ] - Whenever a creature we control dies, we lose one life and draw a card. In addition to that, whenever a creatures dies from either side of the field, you make a 1/1 rat token. She also pairs nicely with another card we'll talk about later.Ģx ] - Not a rat, but another lord. Not too bad considering how many you'll have. You can also tap her down, sac a rat and draw a card. But we can pretend shes our rat queen right? Right?! Whenever a black creature ETBs you drain (all our creatures are black. (Im not solid on the exact number of Colonys to have in the deck, but 12 seem like the sweet spot).Ĥx ] - Now I know.I know.Shes not a rat. With Piper up there they all get menace? Wow. Creates rats, gives rats menace AND has a fancy "steal your opponents creatures" tacked onto it as well? Very nice.ġ2x ] - Gets +1/0 for each Rat you control, and you can have unlimited number of them in a deck. P/T equal to the number of rats, and can copy itself to make more rats, and then get stronger from that created rat? Gotta have 4.Ĥx ] - One of our lords. Come on.Ĥx ] - Kind of the centerpiece of this deck. But it gives us early game, and feeds into our other combos later as a body.Ĥx ] - 1 Mana Deathtouch for the early game is not nothing. Im looking for advice, to see if there are any better cards for a draw engine, or effective value (with out going too far towards Aristocrats).Ĥx ] - Nothing special about this little guys ability, or stats. This was not built/geared to be the King of Games or anything close to that. Please note! This is only for kitchen-table or FNM. This has been an incredibly fun deck for me to play around with.
